The National Testing Agency announced the NEET UG 2026 results on Thursday. Punjab’s Aryan Gupta and Haryana’s Panshul Bansal emerged as the joint national toppers, each scoring 715 out of 720 marks.
The release kept the counselling and admissions process on track for undergraduate medical, dental, AYUSH, and allied courses nationwide.
Close to 20 lakh candidates took the exam.
The NTA reported that candidates sat for the test on June 21 at 5,440 centers in 551 Indian cities and 14 locations abroad. Of these, 11.21 lakh qualified for admissions. Scorecards are available for download on the official website, neet.nta.nic.in.
The agency also published the All India Rank list, state toppers, category-wise results, cut-off marks, and language-wise participation data.

The NTA noted that 19 students scored above 700, while 138 surpassed 690. Another 1,492 secured 650 or more, and 10,160 reached at least 600.
Among those who scored above 690, over 93% were first-time test-takers. Nearly 99% fell within the 17-19 age range. The top 17 rank holders—those with scores above 705—came from eight states, including Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh, and Maharashtra.
State toppers included Jigmet Yangchan Lamo from Ladakh with 530 marks, Dhruv Tripathi from the Andaman and Nicobar Islands with 606, and Fahmida Anees from Lakshadweep with 573. Seventeen state toppers scored 700 or above, while 26 crossed 690.
Women outperformed men among qualified candidates. More than 58% of those who cleared the exam were women, with a qualification rate of 56.8% compared to 55.1% for their male counterparts.
The agency released category-wise qualification numbers: 2.91 lakh from the General category, 5.12 lakh from OBC-NCL, 1.59 lakh from SC, 63,716 from ST, 95,026 from Gen-EWS, 3,666 from PwBD, and 303 from PwD.

The test was offered in 13 languages. The NTA processed results through an updated evaluation system that ran multiple stages simultaneously.
This year’s outcome follows months of scrutiny over the exam’s integrity. The agency has warned candidates to trust only official counselling websites and ignore fraudulent offers promising admissions or score adjustments for a fee.
The Medical Counselling Committee will oversee admissions for All India Quota seats in MBBS and BDS programs. State authorities will handle counselling for their respective quotas.
For many students, the results conclude a year of preparation. While admissions will proceed without delay, some may still face uncertainty over seat allotments in highly competitive regions.
